JEE Advance 2016 Alert


Candidates appeared for JEE Mains 2016 hold during the first week of April would now view their results just after two days i.e. on April 27 in 2016. Mains result will get further opportunities to students to appear for JEE Advanced 2016 and thereby, explore their bright careers as engineers. However, once the result is declared, there would be hurry among students to fill forms for Advanced Examinations. Hence, it is essential for students to stay aware of key aspects associated with JEE Advanced 2016.

Examination Date and Paper Pattern

JEE Advanced 2016 examination consists of two papers i.e. Paper 1 and Paper 2, each of them are three hours. Examination will be conducted according to the scheduled highlighted here:

  • Exam Date:-May 22 2016

  • Day:-Sunday

  • Timings of Papers

  • Paper 1:-9:00 am to 12:00pm

  • Paper 2:-2:00pm to 5:00pm

Candidates should compulsorily appear in and pass both first and second papers of the JEE Advanced 2016 Examination.

Note:-Schedule of the examination will remain unchanged if central or state government declared it as a public holiday. Candidates utilizing scribe services (disabled or vision impaired) will be available with compulsory time of one-hour i.e. end time for their Paper 1 is 1:00 pm, while for Paper 2 is 6:00pm.

Registration Process for JEE Advanced 2016

Candidates willing to appear for JEE Advanced 2016 should visit the registration portal and start with the registration procedure. Students should keep in their minds that registration is performed only by using a single online portal that provides key instructions in detail.

  • Portal of the Online Registration-

  • Commencement of the online registration process-April 29 in 2016 from 10:00 IST

  • Closing of the online registration procedure-May 4 in 2016 from 17:00 IST

Registration Process

Complete registration process consists of three fundamental steps:-

Step 1:-After logging in to the website, a person has to provide his or her basic data that includes selection of question paper’s language (either Hindi or English), choices about examination cities.

Step 2:-Upload scanned images of each necessary document required to perform the registration process.

Step 3:-Make payment of your registration fee. In this case, you should remember that registration fee paid by any student is nor transferable or refundable.

Eligibility Criteria to Appear in Examination

Criteria 1:-Performance in the JEE Mains 2016 Exam

Ranks of the candidates should compulsorily be among top 2, 00,000 (including each category) and should secure positive marks in the first paper of JEE Mains 2016.

15% and 7.5% respectively

Note:-Within these categories, you will find 3 percent of horizontal reservation for disabled or PWD candidates.

Criteria 2:-Age Limit

Aspirants of JEE Advanced 2016 should born on or after 1st of October 1991 to appear in the examination. However, PWD, SC and ST candidates will receive 5 years of relaxation in the age limit.

Criteria 3:-Number of Attempts

Candidate may attempt JEE Advanced for up to 2 times in consecutive years.

Criteria 4:-Appearance in Class 12 Examination

Candidate should appear in Class 12 or any other equivalent examination for first time in every subject either in 2016 or in 2015. However, applicants, who appeared for 12th standard or similar other examination in 2015 and wanted to reappear in the same examination in 2016 irrespective of their failure in more than one subjects or simply for improvement should compulsorily reappear in each subjects during 2016.

Criteria 5:-Previous Admission in IIT or ISM

Applicant of JEE Advanced 2016 should never be the student or acceptor of admission in any of the IIT or ISM in the past.
